FULL IMMERSION IN REAL NATURE, WILDERNESS, CORNERS OF THE WORLD WHERE MAN IS STILL NOT MASTER BUT ONLY GUEST
Trekking is setting off when everyone is shut indoors and feeling the north wind on your face that makes your eyes glisten; or perhaps in the rain that with the moisture creates mists and vapors rising from the earth and muffled fairy tale lights. It is walking to learn about nature and the treasures it contains. Trekking is a way of experiencing nature suitable for everyone because everyone chooses how much to “squeeze in” and how much to risk to reach the goal; a goal that can be entirely individual.

Trekking is setting out from a place by making a journey in the midst of nature, untethered from external support, relying only on one’s own strength. A way of experiencing nature that, while sporty, is not competitive. A way of walking a path that also awakens the inner journey. It is a spiritual journey, in touch with yourself. It does not end with the end of the established course but also continues at home, preparing the next one in the memory of the previous one. By taking stock of our experiences, we refine our ability to choose goals and equipment that are suited to our personalities and aspirations.
It is a personal inner journey that can sometimes be shared with others. Trekking means going back to the early days, when it was necessary to know how to build a fire with wet wood, to know how to cope with any eventuality and any adversity. Back to the earliest times, orienting oneself among forests, valleys, canyons and mountains, eagle’s nest views. It means carrying everything you need to live on your back, discovering that to live well in an environment that is yes beautiful but certainly also hard, very little is needed and can fit into a backpack!

You face difficulties, it is true, it is certainly not a game of golf, but difficulties faced with peers and experienced people are only personal growth, discovering new friendships and strengthening old ones, because difficulties faced together make you feel more united with others. It is so nice to go to mountains untethered from the rules of consumption, the rush, the neon lights, the hit-and-run. Walking slowly, sometimes with effort, keeping one’s body fit step by step, savoring the taste of spring water, sensing the taste of life.
Walking again, slowly, with eyes full of wonder, attracted by grand visions of views, but also by small things, be they stones, mushrooms, flowers. Mind-capturing details bring us back to childhood, when a small thing kept our wonder awake for hours, leaving the mind free to fly, to dream.

TREKKING: A POINT OF VIEW

Stopping for the night preparing camp on the grass, eating simple meals in front of the fire, and then stopping to gaze at the stars in amazement. Because with the city lights we hardly remembered them and it’s beautiful the sky at night! What fools we were to forget the night sky, an ageless wonder, a feeling we never feel saturated with. Never satiated with stars but overwhelmed by fatigue, one begins to feel the need for the tent, for a warm feather bag to continue this dream until dawn. Sleep opens the door to dreams that look out from the stars.

TREKKING: A POINT OF VIEW
Poised in that state between dreaming and waking, in an unknown and mysterious borderland where dreams mix with reality, shaping bizarre and elusive thoughts, vivid dreams and incoherent thoughts. Eventually thought flees far away, leaving all the space for restful sleep and free dreaming to regenerate the mind. He will return when his eyes open again in a cool mountain dawn. The quiet returns sovereign over adrenaline, the spirit restored.
For a moment, away from that world that we love and hate we feel distant, and it is precisely this distance that makes us see things with a different perspective. Soon we realize that even there our life, though differently, continues! And it is certainly no less authentic than routine. We have not escaped from the world of the normal – maybe we have? – more simply, we are having an experience that is provided by that inner physical-geometric place that is more than real, which allows us to look at ourselves and our relationships with the world at large from a certainly different perspective.
TEMPLAREA CURIOSITY:
- The word Trekking is not derived as commonly thought from English but from Afrikaan a language spoken in southern Africa (Today South Africa)
- The Dream Trail is one of the most challenging trails in Europe and runs between Germany, Austria and Italy.
